I just thought of a burning question that has to do with decorating (which I am lousy at) and thought I'd post it here at Forest - but there isn't a category for it. What do you think?

I am one that always has questions about decorating and such. I'm, shall we say, decorating challenged. I love to watch those kinds of shows, but couldn't decorate my way out of a paper bag.

OMGosh marab, me tooooooooo. Arrgh. I have a couple of good friends who have helped me arrange furniture and decor the last couple of times I moved; because I so stink at it!! I'm a minimalist - I don't have a lot of 'pretty' things; what I have is a lot of big pieces of solid wood antique furniture and a lot of computer equipment - it really presents a Feng Shui challenge. Heh.

Yes I am interested in this topic, and would like to make my wife join the forum for this purpose as well: we rarely agree on decoration matters! I look forward to start posting on this subject.

Well my major interest is in how to make best use of limited space, because this is the major issue in our home. I have heard that wall decorations and colors can make a huge difference to how big an area seems, but I do not know how to work this concept in real life. Besides, so much of my house seems to be wasted because we use it only on occasion. We have 'huge' areas where nothing happens except at meal times, or when we have guests,

House and home is a nice topic to be added, seeing that this forums covers anything under the sun. We migth want to share tips on how to make the most of cramped urban spaces or keeping a neat and tidy home office. Mine sure looks like it can use some good advice.

My office problems are not the same as at home, though both are awfully cramped. Privacy and lunch are my main problems at work. An open office has its advantages but telephone calls and visitors make for awfully embarrassing situations. We have to eat at our places of work, and the smells and forms of meat, which all my colleagues eat, offends me no end. Help!
