Paris Hilton Subject description: Back in Jail |

I was heart broken to hear the news! My heart goes out to her. I feel helpless to know that she was led away from court heart broken. It is ironic that such cruelty is in our midst in the 21st century. I could have understood if she had committed a heinous crime, but this truly seems excessive.

No offense. But whether or not she has committed a "serious" crime seem not too relevant here. What she did was committed an offense that under the legislation, serious enough to earn her some nights in the cell.

Who makes laws? Subject description: Paris Hilton back in jail |

Who makes laws and for whose benefit? Are laws frozen in stone, or do we have rights to debate changes which are more appropriate for our times? Is it such a bad thing if punishments for violating parole or for relatively innocuous torts could bypass having to go to prison? Surely, all crimes are not on the same level; violence and carelessness are not equally bad!
